Mlekara Kruna has increased production THREE TIMES since it became a supplier of Lidl
In just one year of existence, the dairy Kruna from Velika Plana has increased its production three times thanks to the fact that it has become a supplier for the new Lidl brand “S ljubavlju, domaće”.
“Cooperation with Lidl is a big step forward for us and a chance to present our products on a wide market. “Before this cooperation, we processed seven tons of milk a day, and today 22 tons, that is, three times more,” the owner and director of the dairy, Stevo Zeljić, told reporters who visited the company.
He added that these business results are an indicator of how much the company has developed due to increased needs, but also improved processes, in order to be more efficient, but also to preserve the quality and safety of products.
Dairy Kruna, within the brand “With love, domestic”, offers ten products in Lidl stores – yogurt, milk, cheese, and fresh milk and yogurt with four percent milk fat were on Lidl’s shelves for the first time.
In the dairy, which covers about 3,000 square meters, milk and dairy products are processed with modern equipment of the latest generation, after which they undergo strict quality controls before they are on Lidl shelves.
The General Manager of Lidl Serbia, Tomislav Šapina, pointed out that Lidl is committed to investing and that the company has so far invested 390 million euros in Serbia.
He added that providing support to domestic suppliers, through daily cooperation, but also initiatives, such as “With love, domestic” is an important step in their development.
“Cooperation with us is an excellent business opportunity, because in addition to placement in 53 stores in Serbia, we also offer the potential for export through the network of Lidl stores in other countries. We expect that in 2021, the value of suppliers’ exports through the Lidl system will be higher by five million euros, mostly due to dairy products and products from the Lidl bakery “, said Šapina.
He added that about 700 Lidl stores abroad, among others, in Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia and Slovenia, already have products from Serbia, and will soon be on the Slovak market.
About 25 domestic suppliers participate in the “With Love, Domestic” brand, and all of them have an IFS certificate, an international certificate of quality and food safety, which is a condition for working with Lidl.
Speaking about the development of the brand S ljubavlju, domaće, the executive director of Procurement at Lidl Serbia, Nikola Balaban, stated that the dairy Kruna is one of the examples of how successful cooperation between the company and suppliers can be achieved in Serbia to the great mutual satisfaction.
Now, with the new brand, Lidl Serbia has more than 600 domestic products in the regular range, and cooperates with almost 90 suppliers from Serbia, “said Balaban during a visit to a modern laboratory for control of raw materials and finished products, where analysis is performed and chemical milk testing.
