The preparatory hearing in the procedure against Miroslav Mike Aleksić, who is charged with rape and sexual harassment of the students of his school “Matter of the Heart”, ended today, and the beginning of the main trial is scheduled for December 28, when he will present his defense, Danas has learned.
Aleksic is charged with four criminal offenses of rape, of which two with extended duration and five criminal acts of sexual harassment, two of which are also qualified with extended duration.
Some of the girls were minors.
He was recently released from custody to house arrest with a nanogic.
The attorney of the injured parties, Jugosalav Tintor, confirmed for Danas that the main trial was scheduled for December 28 and that only the presentation of Miroslav Aleksić’s defense was scheduled for that time.
– All decisions are important – the first is that the court decided to record the main trial, which is a progressive decision, because it contributes to improving the quality of the evidentiary procedure itself. The second decision is that the court decided to make the main trial public. Although the prosecution proposed that it be closed to the public, and although the defense proposed that the public be excluded only when the injured parties are heard, the court decided to make the main trial public – Tintor emphasizes for our paper, adding that the court may exclude the public in certain parts of the main trial if it deems that there are grounds for it.
Tintor also points out that the court accepted that all the evidence of the prosecution and witnesses be presented, while in relation to the defense, it made the decision to examine only eight witnesses out of all those proposed.
As our interlocutor adds, the court will assess during the procedure whether the other proposed witnesses should be examined.
This time, Aleksić was not accompanied by his wife Biljana Mašić, who appeared in the Palace of Justice only at the first preparatory hearing.
In front of the court, Alekić was greeted by a banner “I believe in Milena Radulović”, held by Miloš Urošević, a human rights activist.
