The recovery trend in incoming tourism continues, with 249.5 thousand tourist arrivals recorded in July 2022 (compared to 49.2 thousand in July 2021 and 322.8 thousand in July 2019). This is a decrease of about 22.6% (only) in relation to July 2019 (the peak year) and of about 56% in the aggregate (January-July) in relation to the corresponding period in 2019. These data indicate the continuation of the recovery trend of tourism entering Israel. The rate of arrivals so far forms the basis for the expectation of tourist arrivals to Israel this year, in the range of 2.2 to 2.5 million arrivals.

Minister of Tourism Yoel Razvozov: “The positive trend continues, and according to the data we have, it will continue this month as well, despite the ‘Dawn’ operation. It is important to understand that after the corona, the tourism industry could not have suffered another blow. But the efficient and quick military operation achieved the political goals, restored security to the south and Israeli deterrence, and at the same time preserved the tourism industry, so that it would continue to bring a lot of money into the Israeli economy.”

President of the Hotel Association Avi Nissenkorn: “The State of Israel must not lose its momentum. Massive marketing of Israel in the world is a reality, precisely against the background of the initial recovery of inbound tourism and especially against the background of regional security sensitivity.”
