A few months after the Mini Cooper, the most powerful Mini in the range, the John Cooper Works version, in turn goes through the restyling.
Last January, the famous Mini got a makeover by passing over the pool table. A few months later, it was the turn of its sporty version, the John Cooper Works, to receive such treatment.
The changes are slight
With this restyling, the more powerful des petits anglaises therefore finally adopts the new house front panel. We still find the round LED headlights, which gives this look so unique to the Mini. On the other hand, the grille changes, with a hexagonal radiator grille. Its outline is accentuated and plunges to the bottom of the shield. Finally, larger air openings in the bumper are present and create a slightly more dynamic look, while ensuring optimum regulation of the engine block temperature.
The restyling also brings a sport exhaust in stainless steel as standard as well as four-piston Brembo brakes, with ventilated discs. The John Cooper Works comes standard with 17-inch rims, but there are optional 18-inch models as well. Always optional, the piloted suspension has also been improved for the occasion.
Nothing changes for the engine
Under the hood, no changes. We find the 2.0L four-cylinder turbo that develops 231 horses for 320 Nm of torque. It can be associated with a six-speed manual transmission or a version Eight-speed Steptronic automatic. Between the two versions, the only notable change remains the performance on 0 to 100 km / h: 6.1 seconds in the automatic gearbox against 6.3 seconds in the manual gearbox.
Regarding the interior, there is now a new 8.8 inch central touch screen surrounded by black piano. Finally, there are also a number of updated surfaces and a few new ambient lighting options.
However, the prices are not yet known for the French market.
