Webshop Allekabels has leaked private data and passwords of millions of Dutch people. It is possibly the largest data breach with passwords in the Netherlands ever.
The stolen Allekabels database, containing the private data of about 3.6 million people, was offered for sale on a hackers forum at the end of January for an amount starting at 15,000 euros.
RTL Nieuws has the stolen data viewed and verified.
In total, this concerns about 2.6 million unique e-mail addresses that are linked to names, residential addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth and encrypted passwords.
At least 109,000 IBAN numbers of Allekabels customers have been stolen and traded.
Personal data of people who have ordered from Allekabels via a webshop such as bol.com and Amazon have not been leaked.
Allekabels had been informed since February of this year that their database was being put up for sale on a hackers forum. According to Allekabels, the information sold there was stolen by an employee who has since been fired.
