Microsoft really wants users in its browser – players are courting them with beautiful gimmicks

PC Gamer says Microsoft has found a handy way to court the gaming people using Windows’ own Edge browser. Namely, players get to enjoy higher game graphics.

Microsoft’s subscription service Xbox Game Pass Ultimate allows the player to stream Xbox games to both mobile phones, the console itself and the PC. In the latter case, the game is played directly in the browser without the need to install any additional flyers.

If a player uses Edge, they will be able to stream their games more accurately in the future. There’s a new Enable Clarity Boost button in the settings that sharpens the graphics output of the games.

If you have faith in a benchmark published by Microsoft, the graphical improvement will be significant.

For now, Clarity Boost can only be found on Edge if the user happens to be a member of the Canary program for testing Edge’s new features. According to Microsoft, Clarity Boost will arrive in the public Edge by the turn of the year.
