The IT community has decided: TOP IT EMPLOYERS in Serbia for 2021, the companies are: Microsoft, Nordeus i Ubisoft.

In addition to these three companies, according to the candidate, the TOP 10 TOP IT employers deservedly included companies: Levi 9, Comtrade, 3Lateral, HOOLOOVOO, Continental Automotive, Zuhlke Engineering i Symphony.

Research The employer provides answers to many questions, especially the question of the candidate which are the most desirable IT companies in our country. This research has been conducted since 2019 by the largest domestic employment site Jobs Infostud and the leading site for hiring IT candidates in Serbia, Helloworld.rs.

U as many as 4,960 respondents participated in the research who during April and May this year, through an online survey, created according to a unique methodology, assessed who are the most attractive IT employers in Serbia for 2021, as candidates in Serbia perceive brands of employers in the IT labor market, what attracts them the most to apply for a job with a particular employer and how a positive experience in the selection process can be created.

In the results of this year’s research, for the first time, there are data concerning it the candidate’s willingness to move to another city for work, as well as which are the most desirable guards for IT people.

Stability, a pleasant working environment and leader support

Research has unequivocally shown that the emotional connection of candidates with the brand affects the attractiveness of companies in the market. Candidates want to companies have stable financial operations, friendly and pleasant working environment, to have leaders who value the ability and knowledge of their associates, to exist good balance of private and business life, the possibility of acquiring additional knowledge and a clear and fair reward system. If candidates have the feeling that they are constantly evolving in companies and that they have management that supports it, that is the core of the attractiveness of employers in the IT market. According to the results of the research, two things distinguish the top of the employer from the whole market – a good reference for the future and creativity.

Four aspects to greater attractiveness of employers

To make companies more attractive candidates should focus on four aspects: security imperative, hybrid lifestyle, belonging as part of identity and development through influence.

It has been noticed that security imperative it is becoming an increasing trend and can be created through two aspects – through sustainable business and a safe working environment. As many as 61% of respondents said that they strive for companies that have financially stable business, while 32% voted for job security, which indicates that it is not such an important factor for them, because they are aware that they can find another job with their skills.

When it comes to work environment safety, 50% of respondents voted for a functional work environment (their work corner and space) as an important factor of attractiveness, 48% said they want leaders who value knowledge among their associates and 35% for leaders who provide freedom of opinion.

The appearance of the pandemic has changed the lifestyle so far. The new way of working is reflected in the increasing work from home, which disturbs the balance between private and business life, because it is difficult to make a difference when the working day starts and when it ends. Employees want employers to care more about how hybrid work affects their lives. Companies need to have increased concern for the well-being of employees through various programs to more easily overcome stress and on the other hand, they should focus on the further development of leaders who further manage to manage the hybrid model.

According to the research of VRH Employer, 76% of respondents said that flexibility is important to them and that they have the opportunity to work from home. For 46% of candidates are imperative to have benefits that promote a healthy lifestyle, and even 88% of them want private health insurance.

Interestingly, the impact of working in a hybrid environment has shown that leaders are much easier to adapt to a pandemic situation because their business activities are coordinated in nature – a series of meetings, employee monitoring, employee training, and when it is transferred from real to virtual environment they will not suffer much.

The biggest challenge for companies can be how to achieve a pleasant work environment when people are increasingly working in the virtual world. For this reason, the importance of belonging is growing in the eyes of candidates, which was confirmed by 23% of respondents compared to 12% who voted for this segment last year.

Within the research, there was also a question in which period the employees plan to change jobs. The result shows that over 50% of respondents do not plan to change jobs in the short term (not planning at all or planning for the next two years). According to this, we conclude that IT companies have so far managed to build affiliation in their organizations, but on the other hand, the question arises how to continue.

They do not want to move

When it comes to changing locations due to work The research showed that there is no great readiness for remote relocation, especially from the two largest IT centers – Belgrade and Novi Sad. In that sense, companies that consider relocation in their strategies, depending on where they are located, will have difficulties in attracting new candidates. Distances from 50km to 70km are acceptable but the greater the distance the harder it is for candidates to move.

When it comes to the factor of attractiveness of employers in terms of development through influence, this criterion for job selection is most pronounced in Generation Z. That generation is always guided by the question: How much can I develop in the company and how much does my job affect the environment, which was voted for by 55% of respondents, while 43% said they want leaders who support the development of their associates.
