The new Mercedes GLCon the market this summer, represents the second generation of the medium-sized SUV from the Star, the third if we also count the GLK which – in 2008 – marked the brand’s baptism in this segment.

As usual, with the generational change it is grown up relatively little in size and space, however gaining cm, which were not lacking in the previous one (while they were a bit narrow on the GLK) in the load area and reaching the top of the category. It will again be followed by a coupé variant which, despite the more dynamic profile, will not be much lower in terms of basic volumes.

The Mercedes GLC 2022 is 4.72 meters long (4,716 mm) 1.89 meters wide (1,890 mm) and a scant 1.64 meters high (1,638 mm). Only the first size has increased, by about 60 mm, as has the wheelbase (the distance between the front and rear wheel axles) which has increased from 2,870 to 2,888 mm, while the others are substantially unchanged.

The extra space on the new Mercedes GLC is concentrated above all in the rear area, with about 1-2 mm more for the legs, shoulders and head, however obtained at the partial expense of the front ones, where the previously abundant spaces have been slightly reduced.

Il trunk of the Mercedes GLC 2022 has benefited from the growth in size by increasing the volume by 50 liters and therefore rising to 600 liters with the rear sofa (divided into three parts) in position, while the value with the sofa folded down or that of the hybrid versions is not declared.

The list consists of 6 motors all electrified: it starts with 2 petrol and 2 diesel with EQ Boost advanced mild hybrid technology, all with 4 cylinders, and continues with two petrol variants with plug-in hybrid system. The whole range has a 9-speed automatic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel drive, the AMG versions will come later.
