On December 28, 2021, the Renewable Energy Sources Association of Serbia (RES) and the Association for Energy Law of Serbia (UPES) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the premises of the BDK Advokati law office.
By signing this memorandum of cooperation, RES and UPES have formally and legally established cooperation that already exists in practice. Representatives of these associations expressed their intention to continue this cooperation in all areas of energy, especially in the field of renewable energy sources.
“I am extremely glad that we are concluding the first, very successful year of our existence by signing a Memorandum with UPES, bearing in mind that UPES is the first association to provide us with collegial support after its establishment. UPES is an association of fantastic individuals, renowned lawyers in the world of energy. Many of them, as representatives of their law firms or companies, are members of RES Serbia. We believe that we will have a lot of joint activities with UPES in the future, primarily in order to improve the legislative framework, exchange knowledge and experiences, as well as in the organization of joint events, “said RES manager Danijela Isailović.
Also, the president of UPES, Dr. Branislava Lepotić Kovačević, stated that the cooperation between these two associations is a natural process because the realization of projects in the field of renewable energy sources depends in part on the legal framework. It is the subject of UPES work and research.
The regulatory and legal framework in the field of renewable energy sources in the Republic of Serbia in 2021 is significantly harmonized with the European and international development achievements. This framework enables action against climate change. Now further cooperation between the two associations can continue in the development of a commercial legal framework in this area.
