Memblaze’s latest SSDs target the corporate sector

The novelties of the Beijing company are not only agile and durable, but also lack security solutions.

Memblaze has expanded its lineup with a new line of enterprise / business SSDs using the PCI Express 4.0 interface, PBlaze6 6530 and is based on the manufacturer’s own Unified Framework Platform (MUFP).

Available in the 2.5-inch U.2 and half-height / half-length AIC card formats (the former is the 6530 version and the latter is the 6536 version), and has 176 cell layers on board. 3D eTLC NAND flash chips are in service and have a zenith of 6.8 GB / s in sequential read and 4.9 GB / s in sequential write capacity. During random disk operations, the peaks are 425,000 and 1,100,000 IOPS, but the durations are not bad either, as we get from 1.4 to 3.3 DWPD across the product range, projected over a 5-year time interval. The average read / write delay is 72/10 microseconds.

Magic expressions such as TRIM, Multi-namespace, 256-bit AES and 2.0 TCG Opal encryption, Crypto Erase, Sanitize, E2E privacy, firmware update without reboot, EUI64 / NGUID variable sector size management, telemetry, persistent event logging or say the WRR network scheduler are of course included in the specification list. While the U.2 design is available in 1.92, 3.84 and 7.68, the card format offers a choice of 1.6, 3.2 and 6.4 TB options.
