If the West gives Ukraine nuclear weapons, Russia will have to carry out a pre-emptive strike, said Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.

In a conversation with journalists during his visit to Vietnam, speaking about Europe and the United States of America, Medvedev did not rule out that in the current situation they will “give the Kiev regime quite enough planes”, and what’s more, they might also give nuclear weapons.

– This means that a missile with a nuclear charge will reach them. There are irreversible laws of war. If it is a question of nuclear weapons, it will be necessary to launch a preventive strike – he said, reports RIA Novosti.

According to his opinion, the Anglo-Saxons are not fully aware of this and believe that this will not happen, reports RIA Novosti. Medvedev also assessed that Europe has “gone mad”, that its decisions are constantly igniting the situation, while the US is proceeding from pragmatic interests and trying to “destroy the age-old enemy”.

– Europe has gone mad. The United States as a whole behaves in accordance with its pragmatic interests. They don’t fight themselves, they earn money. They are trying to destroy an age-old enemy. As far as Europe is concerned, they constantly heat up and inflame the situation with their decisions – he said in an interview with journalists during his visit to Vietnam.

When asked by journalists about the preferred candidates for the upcoming US presidential elections in 2024, Medvedev said that the only thing that matters to Moscow is that the Americans do not elect a president suffering from dementia.

– The only important thing is not to choose a guy with dementia. Although it is possible – he added.

Medvedev also said that a decent person in difficult times must live in his country and respect the conditions in which the country is currently. Previously, he called the Russians who left the country traitors and said that they should be considered enemies of society and the state.
