May music be with you in 2022!

We survived the last year of silence, we went through this “trying to get back on track” year and we boldly step in the rhythm of music that keeps us afloat.

This year, our portal celebrated its 15th birthday “modestly and with family”. There was no party, no cake, no candles. That is why we will do our best to, when the situation stabilizes, hopefully next year, celebrate with a big party, maybe a concert.

We will remember this year because we have realized our long-term dream – to make Balkanrock come to life in video format. That is how the first season was broadcast this year Balkanrock Sessions-a, – a series of online concerts of high audio-visual quality. Balkanrock Sessions is designed as a unique combination of live performance and short interview and can be followed through our Youtube channels as well as on streaming platforms. The second season of the Balkanrock Sessions is largely in the post-production phase, and the planning and scheduling of the shooting for the third season is underway.

Journalists and photographers of Balkanrock tried to inform you in 2021 about interesting musical events. We took you through pictures and words to: Ana & The Changes, Josipa Lisac, Kralj Čačka, Zona Iskljuchenja, KOIKOI, Quasarborn, Nemesis, Larska, Bjesovi, Repetitor, The Father of Serpents, Consecration, KKN, Svemirko, Neno Belan & Fiumens, Nikola Vranjković, Hladno pivo, Goblini, Blankfile, Electric Orgasm.

It was a real pleasure to see the editions of this year’s festivals in the region. As in previous years, we have evoked the atmosphere from the festival: Arsenal 11, Mount of Artan XIX, Festival of Ecology and Antifascism “Ekoslavija, OK fest, Nisville Jazz Festival, Memorial Concert” So Young and So Clean “, Belgrade Jazz Festival, Indirect Showcase Festival.

The sad year was also marked by some sad moments. An entire constellation of artists settled in another realm. The following people moved to the musical Valhalla: Djordje Balasevic, Dragoljub Djuricic, Aleksandar Sanja Ilic, Zafir Hadzimanov, Minja Subota, Djordje Marjanovic, Predrag Zivkovic Tozovac, Charlie Watts (The Rolling Stones), Chick Corey, Joey Jordison (Slipknot), Dasti Hil (ZZ Top).

We owe a special thanks to all the organizers of concerts and festivals throughout the region, to all musicians, promoters, associates and friends of the Balkanrock portal, and especially to all the faithful readers – Without you, we would have no purpose. Thank you for being with us all these years, for reading us, for commenting, liking and sharing our content through social networks.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart! May music be with you in the coming year!

Happy New Year 2022!
