Marta Temido says that Health always has a significant share of the State Budget – Society

The Minister of Health, Marta Temido, considered this Thursday that the Ministry of Health always has a “very significant slice” of the State Budget due to its social relevance.

“I think that the Ministry of Health is, generally speaking, a ministry that in the State Budgets has a very significant portion of the social relevance of Health, 703 million euros more which, since 2015 until now, we have more than 3.2 thousand millions of euros in the Health budget program and that lead the Portuguese and professionals, I all think, to say that we need to do better with this budget”, said Marta Temido on the sidelines of the National Congress of Maternal and Child Health “CMIN Summit’ 21”, organized by the Centro Materno-Infantil do Norte (CMIN), in Porto.

The minister said that the proposal for the State Budget for 2022 (OE2022) that the Government has submitted to the Assembly of the Republic has answers to questions that have been raised.

“It can be said that they are not the final answers yet, but it already has answers to some questions and we are, naturally, available to continue working”, he guaranteed.

Marta Temido said she believes that some aspects can still be improved with the involvement of health professionals, political parties and other entities.

Regarding the administration of the third dose of the vaccine against covid-19, the Health Minister assumed that the great expectation is related to the possibility of having a co-administration of this vaccine together with the flu vaccine, which, she said, will allow in terms of speed and comfort a “huge gain” for users.

“Let’s see if it’s technically possible,” he concluded.
