“We expect that by explaining in greater depth over the next few years the solutions that the State Budget for 2022 brings and, naturally, we hope that in the parliamentary process it can still be strengthened, these issues will be overcome,” stated Marta Temido on the sidelines of the National Congress of Maternal and Child Health “CMIN Summit’21”, organized by the North Maternal and Child Center (CMIN), in Porto. After the presentation of OE2022, doctors, nurses, emergency technicians and pharmacists announced strikes for October and November.

The Health Ministry incumbent said that the strike announcements bring three levels of concern, the first of which is the response given to people, namely what can be called into question in terms of assistance activity.

The second, he noted, is related to the motivation of health professionals and the way they see their working relationship.

Marta Temido also pointed out the sustainability of the National Health Service (SNS), noting that this is not always guaranteed, and therefore it is necessary to be careful with the choices at all times.

Regarding the moment when the strikes of different classes are announced, the Minister of Health recalled that the country went through a special period with the covid-19 pandemic and that, during that time, health professionals did not complain about many of the issues indicated. as problems that have dragged on for years.

“So, at this moment, it is natural that these problems will come to the table again and we are here to solve them,” he said.
