Mario Aji Gets ‘Rated’ Wildcard in Grand Prix Moto3

DAPURPACU – Luck fell on the shoulders of Astra Honda Racing Team (AHRT) rider Mario Suryo Aji. Mario is preparing to compete in the 2021 Moto3 Grand Prix with a wildcard status.

It is claimed, the racer who was born in Magetan, East Java is the only one from Indonesia who has a wildcard opportunity without replacing other racers in the Grand Prix event for up to 2 races.

The Moto3 GP series that Mario will play at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, Italy (24/10) and Algarve Internacional Circuit, Portimao, Portugal (7/11).

“I have mixed feelings about this rare opportunity. Proud to be participating in the World Championship race for the first time,” said Mario, in an official broadcast on Friday.

“This is a big motivation for me. With the experience of racing in Misano and the Algarve in the FIM CEV, it makes me even more excited,” he added.

According to AHM’s GM Marketing and Planning Analysis, Andy Wijaya, this is a great opportunity for Mario to compete at the Misano and Algarve Circuits in that event.

“Mario’s appearance at the World GP event will certainly be an inspiration for other Indonesian racers to continue to fight for the name of the nation,” he concluded.

Currently, Mario is still undergoing two races remaining in the 2021 FIM CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship season by occupying the 9th position in the standings.

Mario’s opportunity to continue to struggle to penetrate the top 5 positions in the FIM CEV Moto3 standings is even more wide open. [dp/MTH]
