[아시아경제 유제훈 기자] Mando Announced on the 6th that it signed a business agreement with Unity on the 27th of last month to build an environment for developing autonomous driving based on virtual reality (VR). Unity is a global company leading the real-time three-dimensional (3D) development platform.

Mando And Unity have been using front cameras since 2018 to verify autonomous driving scenarios in 3D VR environments. VR can not only recognize objects such as vehicles and pedestrians, but also verify environmental conditions such as weather.

According to this agreement, the two companies plan to build a VR verification development environment for all products related to autonomous driving recognition by expanding the scope of collaboration to radar, lidar, and surround cameras. The scope of verification is extended to all areas such as autonomous driving recognition, judgment, and control.

Hyungjin Kang Mando The head of the Advanced Driver Assistance Function (ADAS) Research and Development (R&D) Center said, “There is a limit to verifying all autonomous driving scenarios by actual driving.” I will do my best for it.”
