Make Holiday Bread LifePress store

If this year it is your turn to host family and friends during the holidays, delight them with holiday bread that will take their breath away.

As for the ingredients for this bread, they are no different or spectacular, which cannot be said about its appearance. We found the recipe at Foodivakitchen blog, and its owner adapted it with EvaToneva blog. Here is a recipe and photos of how to make this holiday cake that looks like a bouquet of roses.

Ingredients needed:

  • 2 teaspoons dry yeast
  • A spoonful of honey
  • 100 ml of milk milk
  • 500 g flour
  • A teaspoon of salt
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 150 ml of milk
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoons of lemon juice
  • 100 g of melted and cooled butter

Stir the yeast and honey into the milk, cover and leave in a warm place to rise for ten minutes.

In a separate bowl, mix the flour and salt, make a hollow in the flour and beat in the eggs, the rest of the warm milk, olive oil, lemon juice and a mixture of yeast and milk, then knead a smooth dough with an electric mixer or your hands.

Place the dough in a bowl previously coated with a little oil, cover and leave to rise until the volume of the dough doubles – about an hour.

When the dough has risen, knead it a little on the work surface and divide it into 8 equal balls.

Roll each ball with a rolling pin into an irregular rectangular shape 3-5 millimeters thick. Coat each piece of dough with chilled butter.

Put another one over each piece of dough and roll it out to get 4 rolls of dough.

Cut each roll as follows: cut roses about 1.5 cm wide on both sides, and cut the rest into triangles so that you get 4 of each roll. You should get 8 roses and 16 triangles.

Turn on the oven to heat to 180C, and grease a large round mold, then arrange your bouquet of roses from the dough.

Arrange the cut ends of the rolls in the middle of the mold so that they form a fairly regular circle, and arrange the triangles around the roses. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise for another 30-40 minutes.

Beat the egg yolks with the milk and coat your cake with this mixture before baking. Bake for 20-30 minutes, reducing the temperature to 160C after the first ten minutes of baking.

As soon as you take the bread out of the oven, coat it with the rest of the melted butter and let it cool down a bit before serving.
