She received the prestigious award on Friday evening in Paris during the 43rd seminar of the European Olympic Committees. The olympic.sk portal informed about it.
Lopušanová is the first Slovak recipient of the Piotr Nurowski Award. Last year, in this poll for young athletes aged 14 to 18, hockey player Juraj Slafkovský finished in 2nd place.
The Piotr Nurowski Award is awarded annually to young athletes who have achieved very good performance in their sport and at the same time embody and represent Olympic values and ideas on and off the sports fields.
The winner of the poll was decided by the representatives of the national Olympic committees from Europe. First, in cooperation with the expert commission of the European Olympic Committees (EOV), they determined the five finalists, and after their presentation at the Paris seminar, they voted on the final ranking.
“Representing the country is the greatest honor and the highest priority for me. My goal is to qualify with the representation for the Winter Olympic Games,” said Lopušanová in her presentation.
