Loeb is leading the Akropolis Rally after the first stage with a narrow lead

Lamia (Greece) – Rally Akropolis is led after the first stage by nine-time world champion Sébastien Loeb from France, who completed the Ford line-up in Greece. After seven special stages, the 48-year-old driver has a lead of less than two seconds ahead of compatriot and teammate Pierre-Louis Loubet, who is 23 years younger.

“It was a dream day, even though we had problems with the brakes at the beginning of the last stint,” said Loubet, who is attacking the first podium in the world competition.

Finn Esapekka Lappi with a Toyota is currently in third place, losing almost nine seconds to Loeb. His compatriot and world championship leader Kalle Rovanperä, who has a second chance to secure the title in advance, is significantly behind. The Toyota driver is already more than a minute behind three-time Akropolis Rally winner Loeb in ninth place.

23rd place belongs to Martin Prokop with a distance of over six minutes.
