BEIRUT – The Lebanese Ministry of Energy announced today that it has received the approval of the central bank for a loan in the amount of 100 million dollars, for announcing a tender for the import of fuel for the production of electricity.
The ministry said in a statement that the electricity network in the country supplies consumers with the same amount of electricity as before yesterday’s complete power outage, Reuters reported.
The Lebanese electricity network was completely shut down yesterday, after the two main power plants were left without fuel.
The Demir Amar and Al Zahrani power plants ceased operations after diesel stocks ran out and energy production fell below 200 megawatts. Tanjug
