Even now he has not been vaccinated and does not say exactly when he will do it. The general mayor of the Capital, Nicusor Dan, declared that he will be vaccinated after “a number of tests” for which he did not have time yet.
“I will get vaccinated after doing a number of tests that I have not yet done, because there are some emergencies now, which are more important for the people of Bucharest. (…) I said I would get vaccinated “, said Dan in an interview broadcast on Sunday by Digi 24.
Nicuşor Dan rejected the information according to which the meeting with the Prime Minister Florin Cîţu on Thursday had been moved from the Government to the PNL headquarters due to the fact that he did not have a green certificate at that moment.
“I went to the Government and there, when we entered the stairs, I talked for a second with Dr. Arafat, who also came to the government. I was informed that the meeting is taking place at (…) the PNL headquarters “, he said.
Nicusor Dan mentioned that, if the meeting had taken place at the Government, he would have had the opportunity to be tested at Victoria Palace.
“If the meeting had taken place there (at the Government – no.) I would have tested myself there and I would have entered that meeting. But that was not the reason the meeting moved. (…) There are institutions, including the Government of Romania, which have this facility (test – no.) “, Said the mayor.
He stated that he did not have the problem of obtaining the green certificate and that it is not required when entering the PMB, given that the City Hall is his place of work. Nicusor Dan reminded that he went through the disease, mentioning that he took the first positive test around April 20, and more than six months have passed since then.
“I didn’t have the problem to get a green certificate, because my life means to wake up in the morning, to go to the City Hall at 9.00 and to stay at the City Hall until 9.00”, the mayor specified.
Regarding a possible obligation to vaccinate state employees who interact with the public, Nicusor Dan said that this is “a complex debate, which is within the competence of the Parliament”.
“I am a local authority, trying to resolve issues of a local nature. This is the competence that people have given me by vote. (…) Given that there is a complex debate in a national body, I prefer not to interfere with this debate, for which I would probably need a process of reflection that I did not have time to do. (…) I am a responsible man, trying to solve the problems with which he was invested. At the moment, I think the problems I have been invested with are much more important than my person and what is related to me “, he said.
The mayor also specified that he did not request a record of the number of people vaccinated at the level of PMB or of the subordinated institutions.
