A new committee of the Laxmipur District Journalists Forum in Dhaka has been formed. A two-year term committee was formed by direct vote of the general members at the bi-annual general meeting of the capital’s Segunbagichar Segun Restaurant on Friday (October 29th). Zakir Hossain Liton, senior reporter of Daily Sarabangla, has been elected as the chairman of the new committee and Ali Imam Sumon, shift in-charge of our time, has been elected as the general secretary.

The new committee has SM Morshed as senior vice-president, Kazi Habib and Nazir Ahmed as vice-presidents, Riyad Hossain (The Business Standard) as joint general secretary, Ahmed Fayez (New Age) and Majedul Nayan (Barta24), Arifur Rahman as organizing secretary. Prothom Alo), Co-Organizing Secretary Salauddin Chowdhury (Bangladesh News), Treasurer Saif Sujan (Banik Barta), Office Secretary. Ibrahim (Bhorer Kagoj), Publicity Secretary Main Uddin Arif (Ittefaq), Publication Secretary Junaid Shishir (Rising BD), Training and Research Secretary Belayet Hossain (Time TV), Sports and Cultural Secretary Haque Farooq Ahmed (Jugantar) and Zia as Executive Members. Chowdhury (The Business Standard), Mahmud Manzur (Bangla Tribune), Jahangir Hossain (Banglavision), Niloy Mamun (Ittefaq), Rashed Shahed (Bangladesh Pratidin), Aleya Begum Alo (Kachipata) and Chaleha Begum (United News 24) have been elected.

Adviser Golam Mohiuddin Khan, Bakhtiyar Rana, Nurul Islam Khokon and Harun Rashid addressed the meeting under the chairmanship of Khurshid Alam. Golam Mohiuddin Khan, advisor to the organization on behalf of the Election Commission, conducted the election.
