Libya decision from Egypt

Libyan Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mohammed al-Kablawi announced that a high-level diplomatic delegation from Egypt will come to reopen the embassy in the capital Tripoli.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency (AA), Kablavi said that a delegation of diplomats and security personnel from Egypt will pay an official visit to Tripoli for a few days.

Expressing that the delegation will reach Tripoli in a few hours, Kablavi stated that the delegation will reopen the Egyptian embassy in Tripoli on Monday.

This visit will be recorded as the second visit to Tripoli from Egypt on 27 December 2020 since 2014.

Libyan Foreign Minister Mohammed Tahir Siyale stated in his meeting with his Egyptian counterpart, Shukri, as part of his official visit to Cairo on February 9, that Egypt will soon reopen its embassy in Tripoli.

In January 2014, Egypt decided to withdraw all diplomats, including the ambassador, from Libya, following the kidnapping of some officials at the cultural attachment and cultural center in Tripoli in January 2014.
