LG has its new smart TVs ready with new OLED Evo panels, HDMI 2.1 and the Alpha 9-4 processor

Processor α (Alpha) 9 Gen 4 AI

And it is that the brand announces that its line of OLED televisions for 2021 will make use of a new “OLED evo” panel that offers more brightness. Again with 4K resolution, except in the LG Z1 in which the brand shoots up to 8K on the screen.

All new models will use the new Alpha 9-4 processor with Artificial IntelligenceEither in the 8K variant or in the 4K models. This updated Alpha 9 processor benefits from machine learning (automatic learning) to improve the images we see on the screen. The company refers to it as “AI”, artificial intelligence.

To achieve the objective, the processor makes use of the AI ​​Picture Pro system, which recognizes objects on screen to distinguish between close-ups and backgrounds. This improves processing by treating each object independently.

Furthermore LG claims that this processor will also improve the audio and thus it will allow “to maintain a constant level of volume when changing between channels or applications of transmission”. It will also have a new function (AI Audio Pro) that can scale to virtual 5.1.2 surround sound.

All the models presented will incorporate the most advanced connectivity thanks to the use of four HDMI 2.1 ports that will allow the use of 4K video signals with up to 120fps, ideal for new generation consoles. These TVs will offer support for HDMI VRR, AMD FreeSync Premium, and Nvidia G-Sync Compatible.

In this sense and speaking of video games, the brand highlights the “Game Optimizer” function, a control point to manage the settings of everything related to games.

With the new models for 2021 webOS 6.0 is released. The biggest change to LG’s TV operating system is coming with a redesigned home screen in which the bottom feature bar in webOS disappears to look full screen.

In addition, the new models debut a new remote control with buttons and Dedicated shortcuts for apps like Netflix, Amazon, and Disney +.

LG’s OLED 2021 TVs will be compatible with almost all available HDR models (HDR10, HLG, Dolby Vision IQ) and only HDR10 + is missing. In addition, they offer support for audio based on Dolby Atmos objects, the possibility of integrating with Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit.
