Lenovo ready with strong edge platform with artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence is expected to play an increasingly important role in edge solutions over the coming years.

Lenovo launches a new solution that meets the development.

The number of applications with artificial intelligence for edge computing is already extensive and only looks set to increase in the coming years. It places ever greater demands on the hardware that companies make use of in their edge solutions. This is exactly what Lenovo is now meeting ThinkEdge SE70 – an edge platform with artificial intelligence.

The platform is designed to harness the great potential of Computer Vision (CV), which enables computer systems to act autonomously or provide recommendations for action by deriving essential information from visual materials such as videos and images. Among other things, this makes it possible to transform ordinary IP cameras into smart cameras – and, among other things, also optimize processes in department stores and in the retail trade by, for example, monitoring shelves and the movements of goods.

The new ThinkEdge SE70 has been developed in collaboration with Amazon Web Services and is offered with AWS Panorama. In addition, they are powered by the NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX, which is a high-performance, energy-efficient module in a small form factor. The module can be operated via cloud for enhanced security and optimization of training and rollout of artificial intelligence and machine learning in edge solutions.

Lenovo ready with strong edge platform with artificial intelligence“AI applications in edge computing have enormous potential for intelligent enterprise transformation, for example by using Computer Vision to monitor warehousing and logistics operations or to automate manufacturing processes,” said Jon Pershke, Vice President of Strategy and Emerging Business for Lenovo’s Intelligent Devices Group, and elaborates:

“The ThinkEdge portfolio expands to include the power, performance, and flexibility that customers need to build the next-generation Edge network.”
