Ledecká is not yet allowed on the board, her participation in the snowboarding World Cup is also in jeopardy

Prague – Three-time Olympic champion Ester Ledecká in the program Guest of the Radio Journal admitted that her participation in the World Snowboard Championships is also at risk. After breaking her collarbone, the doctors still didn’t allow her to ride a board. At the championship in Bakuriani, Georgia, medals will be fought for in parallel disciplines on February 19 and 21. On Monday, Ledecká announced that an injury from summer training, for which she had to undergo a second operation in November, will prevent her from participating in the World Cup in Alpine skiing in February.

She hasn’t given up on the snowboard championship yet, but the prospects after checking with the operator in Innsbruck are not optimal. “I’m going to, but I’m not yet allowed to snowboard either. When I was with Dr. Sperner, I pushed a lot to be able to slide on some simple hill. Unfortunately, he was of the opinion that it was quite a big risk. If if anything happened to me, it would be a very big problem and it could drag on into the next season,” she said.

After the second surgery, the bone is healing as it should, but is still too fragile for risky sports like downhill skiing and snowboarding. “I already have a pelvic graft in there and it would have to be re-operated on and it would be difficult. Since it’s caught now, in his opinion, a month is enough for me to be careful, and then an X-ray will be done. If everything will be as it should be, so I could go somewhere on the hill. I don’t count on the option that it shouldn’t be like that. I try to be in the gym every day, rehabilitate and be ready for when the doctors give me the green light and I can go to bran,” the twenty-seven-year-old star of winter sports described the current situation.

The injury, which deprived her of at least most of this winter season, she sustained while riding an electric skateboard in the summer training. “Somehow I didn’t manage it. It was a racing electric skateboard and I cut myself on the asphalt,” she revealed.
