Leave Manchester City, Leroy Sane Write Farewell to Pep

Suara.com – Leroy Sane’s transfer saga officially ended after Bayern Munich completed its move with a value of 60 million euros (around Rp979 billion). Although it was tinged with bad news about his desire to leave the Etihad Stadium, Sane did not forget to thank Manchester City and manager Josep Guardiola.

The German national team player was bought by Manchester City in the summer of 2016 when he was 20 years old.

Despite having extraordinary potential, but he still needs guidance from a coach and under the tutelage of a manager who is familiarly called Pep, Sane’s ability is increasingly honed.

With City, Sane packed 39 goals and contributed 49 assists from 135 appearances for The Citizens. Sane helped City win two English Premier League titles, the League Cup and the FA Cup.

Sane also won an individual award which was named the PFA Best Young Player in the 2017-18 season. A serious injury in August 2019 hampered the development of his ability this season, but Guardiola still hopes Sane to stay at Manchester.

Despite officially returning to his home country, Sane will continue to maintain good relations with the English club.

In an upload on his social media account, Sane wrote a farewell message to City.

“Thank you very much for the great time and all the support for the past 4 years. This is a very intense and successful period that I will definitely not forget, “he wrote as quoted by Goal on Friday (3/7/2020).

“We won a lot of matches, scored a lot of goals, broke several records and celebrated 7 trophies together.”

“Thank you to all fans, to the staff and my teammates! I will always remember this moment with great joy and pride.”

In the message, Sane also did not forget to thank the coach who made him what he is now.

“Also thanks to my coach (Guardiola) who made me a better player and had a share when I received the PFA Youth Player award in 2018.”

“I’ve learned a lot and I’m very proud to be part of this trip,” Sane said.
