After a series of hits such as DESPOINIS JULIA by August Strindberg (4 years) – Quartet by Heiner Müller (2 years) – SALOMI by Oscar Wilde (NATIONAL THEATER REX – May 2018) in flamenco version, the choreographer and director FG Lorca’s masterpiece THE HOUSE OF BERNARDA ALBA (1936).

This is the last play by the Spanish author that is part of the trilogy of the “Spanish countryside” along with The Damned Wedding and Germa. It is a political work that, allegorically, reflects the septic socio-political structure of the fascist regime. It dives with raw realism into the dipole of desire-deprivation, asking multiple questions about power relations, mechanisms of restraint and repression, and highlights the incompatibility between want and need.
