Lafarge Beton, new production location in Belgrade

Following the trend of dynamic growth and demand of the construction sector as the biggest driver of the Serbian economy, Lafarge Beton has opened a new production location on the Sava embankment, in New Belgrade. The fourth concrete base on the territory of Belgrade completes the network of production locations, enabling both the location and production capacity, the most adequate response to the needs of customers and projects in the announcement.

The production of fresh concrete mix at the new location will be performed on a concrete base of the Schwing Stetter brand, with a mixer volume of 2.2m³ and a production capacity of 100m³ / h. The concrete heating system ensures uninterrupted deliveries of concrete from this production location in extreme winter weather conditions. Four silos for different types of cement, with a total capacity of 900t, enable complete autonomy of production and delivery of various concrete products, according to market needs.

As with other Lafarge concrete bases, in addition to standard and special Ultra Seria concrete, the product portfolio is richer for ECOPact, concrete with reduced carbon content by 30% compared to standard concretes. ECOPact products represent Lafarge’s response to the growing demand for building materials with reduced environmental impact and contribution to the fight against climate change.

Quality control management of component materials and fresh concrete mix, state-of-the-art concrete production technology and carefully selected location for new production plant, will ensure delivery of concrete according to standard and required quality, justifying the position of leader in concrete production on the domestic market and the safest support in Serbia.

– The acquisition of the concrete base on the Sava is another proof of Lafarge’s intentions to support the construction of Serbia, investing in new equipment and resources. Investing in the concrete segment, in which over 5 million euros have been invested in the last 3 years, expanding capacities, fleet and hiring new workers, is the best answer to the demands of the increasingly challenging and ambitious domestic construction sector – said Goran Kujović, director of Lafarge Beton .
