KTM unveils new 1290 Super Adventure R

KTM has unveiled the new 1290 Super Adventure R, which in the new release brings the Euro5 standard and a wide range of improvements.

According to the Austrians, the 1290 Super Adventure R is made with one focus, and that is the possibility of conquering even the most inaccessible terrains, in an easy and intuitive way.

The redesigned fuel tank, with a volume of 23 liters, improves agility and provides a lower center of mass, with an improved driving feel in all conditions.

KTM also improved the steering head, moved back by 15 mm, while the engine was rotated forward by 2 degrees. Steering characteristics and comfort are better thanks to the WP XPLOR 48 mm front suspension, with a stroke of 220 mm. The rear has a fully adjustable WP PDS suspension.

The 1290 Super Adventure R brings an advanced electronics package as standard. There’s an inertial platform, traction control, stability control, off-road ABS, four driving modes, all of which are easily accessed via a 7-inch TFT screen.

It is powered by an LC8 V-twin, which as we mentioned meets the Euro5 standard. It produces 160 hp at 9,000 rpm and 138 Nm of maximum torque at 6,500 rpm.

The 2021 model has two separate coolers, while redesigned air intakes reduce the retention of warm air around the driver’s feet.

The new KTM 1290 Super Adventure R comes with a price tag of 19,850 euros.
