Keolis will operate the future Grand Paris metro lines 16 and 17

For the first time, a player other than the RATP will operate Ile-de-France metro lines. This is the public transport operator Keolis. Tipped to win the contract to operate automated lines 16 and 17 of the Grand Paris metro, which are scheduled to open at the end of 2026, it was selected on Tuesday May 30 by the board of directors of Île-de-France Mobilités. (IDFM). For a period of seven years or ten years maximum, the contract, which also includes the operation of the Saint-Denis Pleyel station (Seine-Saint-Denis) whose opening is scheduled for June 2024 and which will be served by line 14, will start in July 2023. Its amount “is around 300 million euros”, according to IDFM.
