The Catalan furniture brand Kave Home has been one of the lucky ones to avoid the health crisis. The company had a turnover of 75 million euros in 2020, an increase of 30% compared to the previous year. In terms of online sales, the main channel of the business, the increase was 80%. The aim of Julià Grup, the parent company of the brand, is to exceed 100 million euros in turnover in 2021.
In addition to the good results, Kave Home plans to move its main warehouse, currently located in Fogars de la Selva, to the neighboring town of Tordera (Maresme) in June 2022, as confirmed by the company on Monday to ARA . Julià Grup has acquired land in this municipality where it already has planning permission to build the buildings, according to the mayor of Tordera, Joan Carles García, on the local radio station Ràdio Tordera. The new facilities will have about 50,000 square meters and will represent an investment of approximately 30 million euros.
Kave Home began its activity as a manufacturer and sells only online but in recent years has opted for the creation of a network of physical stores in Spain. It initially opened in Barcelona, Madrid and Vigo, as well as two more establishments in France, both of which opened last year.
In addition, in 2020 it also opened two new stores in Galicia as a franchise, in A Coruña and Pontevedra, thus increasing the company’s physical premises in Europe to seven. Apart from that, Kave Home has spent several months pending obtaining permits to have a store in Malaga, which is expected to open this March.
However, a significant part of the group’s physical sales are channeled through the brand’s own spaces within specialized stores in the furniture sector. In all, the company has ten of these corners distributed throughout the State –two of which in Catalonia: in Terrassa and Manresa–, the same as in Italy. It has three in the Netherlands and South Korea, while in Greece, Belgium, Uruguay, Vietnam and Mauritius it has one. This 2021 Kave Home is scheduled to make the leap to Australia.
