Jusuf Kalla said that during Indonesia’s independence there were 15 conflicts, 10 of which were the result of injustice

Suara.com – Former Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla (JK) said that during the 77 years of Indonesia’s independence there have been 15 conflicts in this country. 10 of them due to injustice.

Thus, he asked the next nation’s leaders to improve justice and prosperity for the people.

“We are independent, we are united, we are sovereign. What must be maintained and improved is justice and prosperity,” said JK at Istora Senayan, Saturday (20/5/2023).

“During our independence, there were 15 conflicts. The 10 conflicts were due to injustice,” he added.

JK then mentioned several areas that had previously had conflicts. For example, the Ambon and Poso conflicts. Initially the conflict was not about religion, but injustice.

“Justice is an important foundation in our lives,” said JK.

JK then gave another example, regarding the recent injustice in this country. Such as damage to roads in Lampung, which were not repaired by the Provincial Government.

Don’t let, said JK, the public think, if you want to cross on a good road you have to pay, or think only rich people can afford to cross on a good road.

“This means that people can assume that if they want to walk well, only people who can afford it therefore pay. But if people’s roads are damaged and not repaired, that is injustice to the people,” he explained.
