Jean-Marie Le Pen, 92, claims to have been infected with an attenuated form of Covid-19, discovering in a blood test traces of antibodies to this virus, AFP learned Wednesday from the former president of the FN.
“During a blood test that I carry out regularly, it was found that I had antibodies which proved my contact with my friend Covid,” said the co-founder of the National Front (now National Rally) at the AFP, confirming information from the Parisian.
“I must have had a moderate attack” in the form of a “bad cold”, added Mr. Le Pen, who cannot date these slight symptoms, adding that his blood test was taken two weeks ago.
“So I am in principle relatively protected,” said the former politician, who therefore considers “not necessary for the moment” to be vaccinated but does not rule out doing it “if it is necessary”.
Her daughter and president of RN Marine Le Pen, who recently said she was “ready to be vaccinated” against the virus when it was her turn, said she “would encourage (her) relatives who are in a fragile situation” to get vaccinated.
According to those around Jean-Marie Le Pen, she told her father to “take care of him”.
