JBL releases two pairs of headphones – true wireless with its own touch screen

The touch screen should complement the app

It is about two pairs of headphones, both with noise reduction, bluetooth 5.3 and 360 sound, a pair of over-ear headphones and a smaller pair of true wireless models where the latter have a touch screen directly on the charging case.

We start with the JBL Tour Pro 2, which is the new true wireless headset. The headset itself thus has noise reduction, 360 sound and a battery life of a total of 40 hours with 10 hours in the headphones themselves and another 30 in the charging case. The most surprising thing, however, is that the charging case also has its own touch screen. There you can make settings, for example activate and deactivate the noise reduction.

The idea with this is that these functions usually require the iPhone or Android app. With a touch screen on the case, you should also be able to make the setting when you have the headphones connected to a computer or if you just want the noise reduction active with the headphones in your ears without having them connected to any device. However, you can still use the app if you want for settings and the headphones themselves have touch buttons for, for example, changing songs or answering calls. JBL wants you to be able to do that and the settings the touch screen provides access to without taking the phone out of your pocket.

In addition to the earbuds, JBL also releases the JBL Tour One M2 at the same time and they also belong to JBL’s flagship series of headphones. Here, too, there is noise reduction and 360 sound, but in addition to that also some other functions. Ear cushions and the material in the jumper are genuine leather and we were told during the presentation that there are three things that determine good noise reduction. Partly it is the ear cushions, it is the fit as a whole and how the headphones close tightly and last but not least the electronic peephole. Furthermore, voice recognition in the earphones should ensure that the music is silenced and that it activates listening when it perceives that you are starting to speak. This means that you can have shorter conversations and hear answers from the person you are talking to without first taking off the headphones.

Both of these headphones that have now been launched will only be released for sale in January, and then the true wireless headphones JBL Tour Pro 2 will cost SEK 2,000 and the JBL Tour One M2 over-the-ear headphones will cost SEK 3,000.
