Javier González Abad: “We must recover the soul of Martorell and put the citizens at the center”

The Martorell PSC has launched the electoral campaign for the upcoming municipal elections on May 28, holding a campaign event at the Pep Ventura promenade. The socialist candidate, Javier González Abad, has stated that he wants to “recover the soul of the city by putting citizens at the center”. Ariadna Gorgojo and Yésica Herranz, numbers 8 and 12 on the socialist list, also took part in the event.

“We must rebuild and recover the soul of this city in the face of a government anchored in aesthetics, we must put values ​​and ethics, protect people and put citizenship at the center”. This is how the mayoral candidate for the PSC has begun his intervention, who has appealed for a Martorell to promote more social policies and services to people.

González Abad talked about projects that his training wants to promote: a “chain of volunteers to serve the elderly and the young”; more education programs for these groups; a new “more modern and accessible” intergenerational civic space; more digital training, more resources for AMPES and AFAS; the “renaturalization of the city with more environmental protection and energy efficiency” and more training for adults “using the facilities of the FPCAT”. He also referred to the creation of “health agents, people who can give advice on nutrition and health, physical activity and human relationships”.

Ariadna Gorgojo has denounced “shortcomings in the management of CAPs and the CDIAP” and has opted for an improvement of health resources. He also said that it is necessary “to spread more information among the citizens of SIAD and for it to respond more quickly”. He referred to a “quality, calm, coexistence based on respect between everyone” and to support and create “new associative centers to fill the deficiencies of the administration”, entities that provide assistance services:

Herranz, for his part, said that the socialist candidacy is betting “to reinvent Martorell, to overcome models from other times, for an egalitarian, healthy, sustainable and advanced city, with a culture based on human rights, inclusion and equality between men and women”. He also referred to the promotion of training and employment “that thinks about the digital and green transformation” and the commitment to “dedicate more resources and agents of the Local Police to the promotion of civility and coexistence”.
