The eleventh, the penultimate stage of the Dakar 2021, was originally supposed to measure 511 kilometers, but was shortened to 466 km due to heavy rain around the finish line, which flooded the roads of the speed test.
The stage started directly from the bivouac in Al Ule and, in addition to sections in dry rivers, a 100-kilometer passage with large dunes was waiting for the competitors. After the stage, 132 more kilometers awaited the competitors.
It was the longest and, according to many, the most difficult stage of the 43rd Dakar.
David Pabiška completed the stage without the slightest problems and finished in 33rd time and in the overall ranking he is 31st. In the order of Original by Motul, David finished the stage in 4th place and it also belongs to him in the overall ranking of the category.
David Pabiška: “Today everything went really smoothly, without problems – navigation, as well as technical. When I was surprised. The organizers were afraid that it would be hell, but from my point of view it did not happen. I did not fall and I am very glad that we I will go to it with humility, I will prepare my motorcycle properly, I will choose a tire that is not so broken yet and we will finish it tomorrow…
Rudolf Lhotský finished 42nd today and the same place belongs to him in the overall evaluation. In the order of Original by Motul, nothing has changed after the 9th place in the stage and Rudo is ninth in the overall ranking.
Rudolf Lhotský: I really sweated today. It was very long, the dry river was endless and full of rocks. I managed to navigate it today, I didn’t get lost and the dunes weren’t as terrible as the organizer promised, because the sand was hard. I fell easily once, but the bike is fine and I will prepare it for tomorrow so that I can enjoy the last stage as well.
The penultimate stage will take the racers back to Jeddah, where everyone will be successfully waiting for the Dakare 2021 finish ramp.
