Jankto: A draw is not enough, if we make such mistakes, we will not win

Jablonec nad Nisou – According to winger Jakub Jankt, the players of Sparta have only themselves to blame for their losses at the beginning of the season. Despite the long overtime, the Prague team only drew 1:1 in the sixth round of the first league in Jablonec and did not win for the second time in a row and the third time overall in the year of the top competition. The twenty-six-year-old Letenské summer signing warned that if the Spartans do not avoid mistakes like today and last time against Bohemians 1905, they will have a hard time winning.

The Spartans in Jablonec led from the 10th minute after a goal by Kryštof Daňek, but just before the break they allowed Miloš Kratochvíl to score an equalizing goal and after the change of sides did not use the power play after the expulsion of Jakub Považanek in the 55th minute.

“We were leading and then we get a goal that we simply shouldn’t get. I think we had the game under absolute control for 40 minutes. We started with an excellent press, we scored a quick goal. Jablonec had nothing there, and we get a goal from the deflected ball after our kick-off. Although we they didn’t lose, a draw is certainly not enough for us,” regretted Jankto in an interview for club television.

After Saturday’s home draw with Bohemians 1905, Sparta played 1:1 for the second time in a row, and on Wednesday its loss against Slavia can increase to four points already at the beginning of the season. “We get into trouble ourselves. It’s not about Jablonec, it wasn’t about Bohemka. It’s just about us. If we repeat these mistakes, unfortunately we won’t win,” Jankto noted.

“In the first and second half, there were moments that simply cannot happen to us. In the second half, Jablonec goes to the goal alone with ten players, there were several breaks. Then we are not able to finish it in the final part of the field, including me. We all have to start with ourselves, what we can do better ourselves. We can’t look at others, we are to blame,” added Jankto, who came to Letná as a pupil of rival Slavia in the first half of August from Spanish Getafe on loan with an option.

So far in the season, Sparta has problems with playing full defense. Both Jablonec and Bohemians came out with three stoppers. “The opponents against us all start in a 5-4-1 formation. When Jablonec got a red card, he completely pulled it off. I think we have to take more risks, be braver one on one. Give more crosses, pour it out there,” Jankto said.
