On May 25, at a meeting of the Augšdaugava Regional Council, the deputies supported the proposal to submit projects to replenish fish resources in reservoirs located on the territory of the municipality to the Fish Fund, the Augšdaugava Regional Council informs about this.

It is planned to launch pike-perch fry into the Darza lake in the Demensky volost (5,000) and into the Medum lake (26,000). The project is scheduled to be completed by October 31st. The costs will amount to 9,998 euros, of which 89% will be financed by the Fish Fund, and the Augšdaugava Region will pay the rest.

It is also planned to release pike fry into the lakes of the Augšdaugava region: 13,000 pike fry into Lake Brigenskoe in Demėna volost, 700 into Lake Škīrstiņu in Medum volost, 4,800 into Big Lake Subates, and also into Small Lake Subates – 4,800. The project should be implemented by 31 October. The planned costs will amount to 8,155 euros, of which 89% is financed by the Fish Fund, and the remaining part is co-financed by the Augšdaugava Region.

Another project concerns the development of rules for the fishery exploitation of the lakes Cernevas, Ozerka, Laucesas, Kumpinskiu and Skirnas. The project implementation period is until the end of October, the costs are 8,706 euros, of which 89% will be financed by the Fish Fund, and the municipality will contribute the rest.

With the support of the Fish Fund, it is also planned to implement the project “School of young fishermen”. Within its framework, a camp will be organized for 20 schoolchildren aged 7 to 11 years. The total amount of the project is 7,477 euros, of which 89% is covered by the Fish Fund.

Finally, the Vishki municipality is planning to launch a project to release 18,000 pike-perch fry into Lake Vishki. The total cost is 5,771 euros, of which 89% is covered by the Fish Fund, and the remaining part will be paid by the rural municipality. The implementation date is October 31st.
