Isuzu Indonesia Dispels Concerns About Troubled Aftersales Euro 4

DAPURPACU – Ahead of the implementation of the Euro 4 exhaust gas standard in April 2022, Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia (IAMI) ensures the readiness of after-sales services at all of their authorized dealers.

Budhi Prasetyo, Aftersales Business, Inventory & Logistics Div. The Head of IAMI explained that consumers who own Isuzu products do not need to worry about after-sales services at official workshops.

This is reinforced by the availability of units that have been equipped with Euro 4 standard common-rail engine technology, since the introduction of the Isuzu Giga in 2011.

“For Isuzu, common rail technology has started 10 years ago through Giga, and so far there have been no problems with the engine technology,” he added.

While Theo Martinez, Aftersales Strategic & CRM Dept. Head of IAMI explained, consumers don’t need to worry about the Euro IV emission standard, where the spare parts and maintenance are the same as the Euro II emission standard.

On the other hand, in terms of parts, the Traga unit is 90 percent the same as the Euro II model, while the ELF is 83 percent and the Giga is 90 percent the same as the previous model.

While in the fast moving component, there are only three differences in the Giga, namely the Air Cleaner, Fuel Filter and Clutch Cover. As for ELF, there are five differences, namely Belt Cooling Fan, Element Fuel Filter, Element Oil Filter, Disc Clutch, and Cover Clutch.

Theo emphasized to consumers not to worry about the availability of spare parts in the market for periodic maintenance.

“With these conditions, the part shop does not need to add a very large stock to back up because 90 percent of spare parts are the same as the previous model,” he added.

Furthermore, in terms of maintenance, continued Theo, 90% of spare parts are the same as the previous model so that the replacement interval does not change and maintenance costs are not expensive.

“Everything can go well and we serve to the maximum. We also have 108 outlets, 70 Isuzu partner workshops and 145 units of Isuzu workshops running,” said Theo.

“To check the Euro 4 unit, diagnostic tools are needed and have been spread across all Isuzu outlets, where these tools help check and maintain consumer units,” he concluded.

For information, the higher the Euro standard that is set, the lower the limit on the gas content of carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, volatile hydro carbon and other particles that have a negative impact on humans and the environment.

For Euro 4, the nitrogen oxide content in gasoline-fueled vehicles should not exceed 80 mg/km, 250 mg/km for diesel engines, and 25 mg/kg for diesel particulate matter. [dp/MTH]
