In the radio show “Growth Pinnas” of the Äripää topic website Põllumajudans.ee, area allowances are examined and how PRIA checks compliance with the rules using modern remote monitoring. We also get an idea of the status of the creation of the national e-field book. In the second half of the show, however, we will focus on specially marked diesel fuel, we will find out what has changed after the implementation of the new sales system for the farmer and what benefits the country has already received from the new solution.

Tanel Trell, head of the direct subsidies department of the Agricultural Registers and Information Board, and Kiido Levin, head of the registers department, will be visiting the show. Both consider that all the changes have already benefited the sector and the country. “Certainly, the control of the use of euro money will become more thorough, because from now on we started to carry out 100% surface monitoring instead of the previous 5% sample. The new solution is also much more flexible and allows the farmer to do the necessary work and make corrections if something is wrong,” said Tanel Trell.

However, Kiido Levin emphasized that, in a broader perspective, the purposeful use of taxpayers’ money is ensured by the use of innovative solutions. “The key to the success of the register of specially marked diesel fuel is certainly broad-based cooperation between the Ministry of Rural Affairs, PRIA, MTA and the Ministry of Finance, as well as the involvement of the private sector. All interested parties directly affected by the changes could have a say in the discussions and preparation of the register creation. However, if we talk in the language of numbers, in the first quarter of 2022 approx. 18.3 million liters of fuel were sold, this year the sales during the same period were approx. 8.7 million. Their difference, if sold as a regular diesel, would mean 3.37 million euros in additional revenue for the state. It is also important to point out that the availability of fuel has not deteriorated,” said Levin in the program.

The show is hosted by Meelika Sander-Sõrmus, the head of the Äripäiv agriculture theme website.
