After six years, the Moldovan champions of modern metal Infected Rain return to Močvara on July 23 as part of the “Heyday” tour. Local guys will perform before them as special guests Pale Origins.
Infected Rain was created in 2008 in the capital of Moldova, Chisinau, and the cornerstone was laid by guitarist Vadim “Vidick” Ojog, DJ Ivan Kristioglo aka DJ Kapa and charismatic singer Elena Cataraga aka Lena Scissorhands, who also writes lyrics. It is interesting that their first performance was at a concert dedicated to Slayer in August 2008, and a month later they released their first demo with three songs. So far they have released five studio albums: Asylum (2011), Embrace Eternity (2014), 86 (2017), Endorphin (2019) and the most current Ecdysis (2022) which will be promoted on this occasion in Močvara. The band is normally under the Austrian record label Napalm Records. Their sound can be described as a combination of nu and groove metal with a pinch of metalcore. Apart from the already mentioned Elena and Vadim, the band members are Vladimir Babici on bass, Sergej Babici on guitar and Eugen Voluta on drums. Elena also performs with the American band Death Dealer Union, and is also very popular on social networks.
Pale Origins is a modern four-member metal band created after many years of acquaintance and companionship of its members. As they all share a love for music, and were and still are members of some other bands and projects, it was only a matter of time before their friendship would force them to embark on a common story.
At the end of 2016, they throw out the first EP „Embers“ which they promoted with performances in Croatia, which includes a performance at Zagreb’s VALLHALA festival in May 2017. In the summer of 2017, the band performed at one of the largest demo competitions in the region – DEMO FEST 2017 – in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the finale of the festival, they played in front of an audience of over 6,000 people, and for their performance, they received an ovation from the audience and the respect of the jury. Although they did not win first place, their then bass player was recognized as the best bass player at the festival, receiving the “BLUE BASS” award.
After that experience, the first concerts outside Croatia started. During the fall of 2017 and 2018, they played two tours in more than 8 countries of the Southeastern bloc of Europe. In that period, the identity of the band began to be defined as the unity of its members. Determined to overcome every obstacle that leads them to the goal with steel will, and that goal is – to present their vision of modern metal to a wider number of people. During 2019, they are recording their first album „Shoganai“ and as an announcement they release a single and a music video „Tension“ followed by two more accompanying music videos for the songs „Deathbreather“ i „Ghost Unity“, The album “Shoganai” was officially released in April 2020.
