A special unit of the Federal Police stopped an ICE from Berlin to Hamburg in Brandenburg on Friday afternoon, brought out the passengers and arrested a passenger who had become conspicuous. A spokesman for the federal police said the man had mobbed the train and had noticed threatening statements by the on-board personnel.
The approximately 320 passengers were first brought to the train station in Friesack west of Berlin around 1:15 p.m. and stayed in the village in the afternoon. Around 4:30 p.m., the operation was still running, but the man had already been overpowered without injuring anyone, the spokesman said. (dpa)
