In the Arc factory, the Minister of Industry tries to reassure worried employees

The announcement was made in early September. The Arc group, world leader in tableware, will reduce its production by half in the coming months to cope with soaring energy costs. To do this, some furnaces will be shut down from November and some of the 5,000 employees at the Arques site, in Pas-de-Calais, are already placed on partial unemployment.

A minister in support

Roland Lescure, Minister Delegate for Industry, was present this Friday, September 9 to remind management, employees and union representatives of the support of the State. Indeed, on several occasions in recent years, the State has contributed to bailing out the group’s coffers, in particular by granting it aid and loans.
