in Energodar, the occupiers are torturing nuclear workers — UNIAN

The Russian invaders force the workers of the occupied Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant to sign contracts under torture.

This is reported in the Telegram channel Energy atom. According to them, the occupiers are looking for nuclear workers in Energodar who have not signed labor contracts with the fake JSC “Operating Organization of the Zaporizhzhya NPP” or another Rosatom company for more than a year.

“The occupiers are torturing the workers, they unceremoniously beat several of them, forcing them to agree to cooperate with the aggressor. Even despite threats, torture, blackmail and incessant intimidation, the Ukrainians at the ZNPP keep their dignity and refuse to cooperate with the rioters,” added Energoatom.

Occupation of Zaporizhzhya NPP: what is known

The troops of the Russian Federation control the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant and the city of Energodar from the spring of 2022. Station employees are intimidated and forced to sign contracts with the occupiers.

In addition, the invaders accused Ukrainian nuclear workers of providing the Armed Forces with information about the movement and location of military equipment on the territory of the station. The ombudsman also reported on cases of kidnapping, torture and murder.

The International Atomic Energy Agency systematically warns that military actions on the territory of the station could lead to a major disaster. In the spring, the head of the IAEA stated that the ZNPP could no longer be protected.
