In BIST 50, the ‘step up rule’ will still be applied today

In the statement published on Borsa Istanbul’s Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), it was reminded that in accordance with the decision of the Capital Markets Board, short selling transactions can be made in the stocks in the BIST 50 index.

In the statement, it was stated that it was decided to apply the step-up rule in short selling transactions for the said shares, which was introduced in the period of 14 September-3 October, in today’s session. However, if the latest price of the capital market instrument subject to short sale is higher than the previous price, the short sale can also be made at the last price level. Since the sales that are closed with the purchases made within the scope of short selling, it is important to show the necessary care and diligence in transmitting the orders for such sales by our investors and investment institutions by marking the short selling option.
