This year, the municipality still plans to support the creative ideas of young entrepreneurs by offering them participation in the Impulss business ideas competition program.

For these good purposes, the Daugavpils City Council annually allocates about 60,000 euros so that local entrepreneurs, who have been in business for no more than two years, could implement their most unusual ideas.

According to Vice-Mayor of Libya Yankovskaya, this year accepting applications for the competition for business ideas will begin in March, and not in the fall, as it was before.

– If the program usually began closer to autumn, so that by the end of the years it would be possible to allocate grants to the winners, now it has been decided to start accepting applications in March. This will allow us to provide much-needed assistance to our aspiring entrepreneurs and their ideas, ”said the vice-mayor in the Dialogue with the City program on radio Alise Plus.

Anyone who wants to become a participant in the Impulss grant program should follow the information of the local government in order to submit an application on time and become the owner of a cash prize of up to 7,000 euros for the promotion and implementation of their idea.

Last year, a record number of applications took part in the entrepreneurship support program – 37, of which about 12 ideas were selected. According to the rules, they should be implemented on the territory of Daugavpils self-government during this year.

The total amount of grants is about 60,000 euros, the size of one of them should not exceed 7,000 euros, and support to the council is up to 75% of all costs.
