This was announced by the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, Eduard Heger (OĽANO), in the Sunday talk show TA3 V politika.
The Prime Minister claims that the negotiations on the solution to the coalition crisis are going according to expectations so far and “have not gotten stuck”. At the same time, he pointed to five points that he presented to the coalition partners at the Saturday meeting (August 20) and which, according to him, bring a solution to the problems.
“They are a fair and above-standard offer for the SaS party,” he emphasized. “Now is the time for SaS to drop the ultimatum,” he added.
He does not see a solution even in the case of the joint departure of Richard Sulík (SaS) and Matovič from the government, since, according to him, the government does not have a problem. “I don’t need to deal with the government, it works for me,” emphasized Heger. According to him, the coalition councils are rather problematic, and therefore he suggests that Sulík and Matovič should not participate in these negotiations.
Possible exchange of posts
Part of the new agreement would also include the exchange of state secretaries at the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economy. “If there was an exchange that OĽANO would have a state secretary for the economy and the SaS party for finance, they would see significantly more in those departments,” explained Heger.
He indicated that disputes on social networks could also be resolved by sanctions, on the basis of which the parties would be in danger of losing the chairman of the parliamentary committee or the minister. “These are very strong sanctions,” he declared.
According to him, personal things must go aside. “I’m interested in professionalism and responsibility,” he added.
At the same time, Heger denied that he was a weak prime minister. According to him, he knows his function very well. “I know very well where the problem is, and that’s why I propose such a solution. If someone interprets it as a weakness, I don’t agree with him,” he declared. He noted that it is thanks to his approach that the coalition still exists.
Next Friday (August 26) he wants to negotiate with the parties again, and despite the fact that some do not see the point in it, Heger still has hope. He believes that when they meet, the hardness will ease.
“I will fight until the last second,” added Heger, who rejects a defeatist approach and the scenario that the current government would fall. “The quadruple coalition is the only option,” he emphasized.
