DAPURPACU – The first automotive exhibition in 2021, namely the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS), officially began last Thursday (18/2). IIMS Virtual X Shopee is the initial phase in this year’s IIMS series.
Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto and Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita are lined up to open the exhibition which will last until February 28.
Hendra Noor Saleh, President Director of PT Dyandra Promosindo, claims that even though the market is under pressure from the pandemic, his party is still holding this exhibition in order to revive the automotive market.
The man who is familiarly called Kohen said that the culmination of the upcoming IIMS 2021 will be held in a ‘hybrid’ manner, combining the concepts of online (online) and offline (offline).
“We do this in reflection of the successful implementation of the IIMS Motobike Expo in December 2020, which carries a similar concept amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic,” he added.
“This event we hope to create opportunities for all parties involved in the automotive industry so that various kinds of programs or campaigns can be optimally realized,” he explained later.
IIMS Virtual 2021 X Shopee will be held in two phases. After the first phase is completed on February 28, there will be a second phase in March with the same concept.
To be able to ‘visit’, you can directly access the site www.indonesianmotorshow.com. There, visitors can see first hand the various brands of vehicles and aftermarket exhibitors.
On the other hand, IIMS Virtual 2021 X Shopee also aims to support the promotion and sales program of the automotive industry and is expected to multiply transactions so that the recovery of the automotive industry will run more quickly.
In addition, there will be various attractive promo programs for the next eleven days, such as an online auction, online door prize and flash sale.
During the next 11 days, visitors can see vehicle treats and promotional programs from 11 brands and one general importer for four wheels, namely BMW, DFSK, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, Mini, Mitsubishi, Morris Garage (MG), Toyota, Wuling, and Prestige Motorcars.
Not only that, a row of two-wheeled vehicles is represented by six brands, including Benelli, BMW Motorrad, Italjet, Niu, Royal Alloy, Velocifero.
In his remarks, the two state ‘envoys’ hoped the series of automotive exhibition events initiated by Dyandra could quickly restore and stimulate the country’s economy.
“With the start of the first phase of the IIMS 2021 series, it will be able to accelerate the recovery of the automotive sector amid the Covid-19 pandemic,” concluded Agus.
Phase 2 is expected to reach its culmination in IIMS Hybrid in April, when it gets permission to exhibit from the government, which is scheduled to be held at JIExpo Kemayoran in a hybrid manner. [dp/MTH]
