IFA 2022 live from Berlin: The most interesting things to see

IFA Berlin is an international trade fair for consumer electronics, which takes place regularly every year. We also had the opportunity to participate in this year’s exhibition and were able to see current trends and news not only from the world of smartphones, but also computers, tablets and artificial intelligence, as well as novelties intended for the home, smart home and televisions. There were also a few electric cars, and companies that deal with charging infrastructure for electric cars also showed their innovations.

Compared to previous IFAs before the pandemic, this year’s event was a bit smaller, but still huge. This is evidenced by the fact that we needed more than 30,000 steps to pass all the stands.

HONOR presented a smartphone, tablet and notebook at IFA in Berlin

Let’s start nicely, with smartphones. At IFA, manufacturers do not often present their new smartphones, but they do not forget to bring them to show. However, one big performance took place in the front hall and we personally took part in it. HONOR introduced the new HONOR 70an upper mid-range smartphone with a powerful processor, a successful design, a beautiful display and fast charging.

However, the manufacturer also showed other news. Officially introduced the laptop HONOR MagicBook 14 a tablet HONOR Pad 8 with a low price and a large 12-inch 2K display. At this manufacturer’s stand, we could also see a large number of different color combinations of the Honor Magic4 Pro flagship, and there were also accessories in the form of headphones and watches.

FairPhone 4 live

For the first time, we were also able to see the interesting FairPhone 4 live. This is already the fourth generation of modular smartphone, which is probably the best if you consider its ecological footprint when buying a new phone. The biggest innovation compared to its predecessors, which this model offers, is the support of 5G networks.

This easy-to-repair smartphone also boasts interesting prices for spare parts. For example, a battery or selfie camera costs €29.95. The body of the smartphone is of course made of ecological materials.

Asus showed a laptop with a flexible display, but also smartphone news

Although we primarily deal with Android smartphones on our website, we definitely couldn’t miss Asus at IFA. He showed here one of the most interesting products of the entire exhibition. New Zenbook 17 Fold. When fully open, it offers a large, up to 17-inch monitor.

The display can bend in the middle until completely closed. There is also a magnetic hardware keyboard, which will ensure comfortable typing when the device is not open at an angle like a regular notebook.

Such a form of notebook brings with it several uses. In addition to a classic small laptop with a keyboard, it can also be used as a desktop. A 17-inch monitor is already large enough for such use. The bigger thickness could be a problem, it doesn’t look the best when closed. And of course the high price ($3499 without tax).

However, we could also see Asus’ current star, the compact ZenFone 9 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, up to 16 GB of RAM or a main camera with gimbal image stabilization. It was available in all four attractive colors. Of course, Asus did not forget the gaming segment either and also brought the ultra gaming smartphone ROG Phone 6 Pro.

Samsung with a separate hall

The largest exhibition among all brands was clearly shown by Samsung, which was the only one to have a separate huge hall dedicated to it. He showed news from the Bespoke series here, but there were also current folding smartphones – Z Fold4 and Z Flip4.

In the hall, it was also possible to find a gaming zone where the manufacturer showed off its monitors. The main star among the presented products was gaming monitor Odyssey Ark with a curved 55-inch display.

Smart home

As part of smart home solutions, it was possible to see a number of robotic vacuum cleaners from different brands. Chinese manufacturers Jimmy and Dreame also found their way to the exhibition center. Roborock with its most bloated vacuum cleaner couldn’t be missing either MaxV 7 Ultra.

Home smart cameras, thermostats, weather stations and other smart home devices were literally at every step. There was also the French company Netatmo, Xiaomi, Nous and many others.

Nokia X30 and smartphone accessories

We were also able to see a complete novelty from Nokia – Nokia X30, which is again a smartphone with an emphasis on ecology. Its sales packaging is made of 94% recycled paper, the smartphone offers a 6.3″ FullHD AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. 50 MP main camera or Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor.

Smart watches were also shown by Amazfit, Xiaomi, Huawei, Honor and others. Speaking of Huawei, the tent also had a fairly large stand. The main star from the smartphone fan’s point of view was definitely the new foldable Mate Xs 2.

Thanks to HONOR for allowing us to participate in IFA in Berlin.
